Usage & Billing
Understand FreeAIOCR API pricing, balance reservations, image and rate limits, and content retention for both OCR endpoints.
These rules apply to Image to Text and Image to Table. Check each API reference for its supported inputs, formats and specific errors.
Pricing
Each successful image costs $0.002, including 2,000 input and 2,000 output tokens separately. Extra input: $0.30 per million tokens; extra output: $1.20 per million. Only usage above each allowance is charged. Money is returned as USD strings with 9 decimal places; do not round to cents when recording charges.

Balance & Reservation
Each new execution requires at least $0.011288000 available and freezes that maximum amount. Success charges actual usage and releases the rest. Confirmed recognition failures are not charged; recovery may temporarily leave funds frozen. A lost response may already have been charged: retry with the same Idempotency-Key and original image to check.
A balance of $0.002 alone cannot cover the required reservation.

Input includes the image and service prompt. Fixed UTC-minute attempt limits include retries and replays. All API keys share the account limits.
Content Retention
Original images are not stored and API content is not added to website recognition history. Response text is available for retry replay for 24 hours from acceptance, then becomes inaccessible and is cleared by cleanup; account deletion also clears it. Billing and usage metadata are retained separately for reconciliation. Save the text on your own system if you need it later.
